Environment Initiative

An Zensar Technologies, under its Green agenda as a commitment to the Environment and to running an Energy Efficient business for its associates, customers, community and stakeholders has been working towards becoming an environment friendly organization. Recognizing its responsibility towards minimizing its impact on the environment, the Company has extended its Green activities to supporting environmentally conscious activities by reducing wastes, emissions, recycling and making associates aware of their environmental responsibilities through briefings, campaigns and general awareness communications. The organization's ethos places special emphasis on these issues and the group's efforts to spread knowledge, preserve and regenerate the environment find expressions in the various initiatives it undertakes.

Initiatives

The Company commenced the Green movement by hosting the Pune Cycle Rally and Walkathon while celebrating World Environment Day and inviting other IT companies, NGOs etc in partnership with the Pune Municipal Corporation.

In addition to these, Zensar in association with the Association for Learning, Education and Training (ALERT) - the NGO it is working with for the green movement has also entered into a partnership with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Our partnership with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will aim at developing a 2 acre land mass, currently a barren piece of land, into a biodiversity park with over 35 different species of plants and trees. The project located near Zensar's Kharadi Campus in Pune will be maintained and run by Zensar with active participation from its associates.

Global Warming awareness sessions for teachers were held at 10 PMC and private schools in Kharadi and adjacent areas as part of our Green Zensar movement, 82 teachers participated in these sessions and supported the cause and vowed to spread the message across to children.

A painting competition along with an awareness session based on Global Warming as the theme was also organized during this period for children from the community along with associates' children. This gave children an outlet to express themselves and their thoughts and also gave them great learning.
